Training program for e-tutors

The Centre for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (ZHL) offers a training program for e-tutors. Student assistants are provided an overview of all the possibilities and the application of digital teaching resources, and ought to support teachers during their assignments. In that, they can help by consulting, accompanying and co-designing, in order to select digital teaching-learning processes for their own subject area in consultation with teachers.

News and Events

In the summer semester of 2023, ZHL will use Bavarian state funds to finance the personnel costs for ten e-tutors for five months. We cordially invite teachers to submit an application. In addition, ten more students can use the training offer free of charge.

  • In total there are 20 training places. The training at ZHL is conducted by Paul Dölle. There are no additional costs for the chair.
  • For ten students, there is funding for personnel costs through Bavarian state funds. Applications for student funding and training should be received by FBZHL by December 19, 2022. Applications received after that date will be awarded based on available resources.
  • The first mandatory training days for the e-tutors will be before the start of lectures on in April 2023. The seminars will take place as hybrid face-to-face/online seminars. Invite your students to register for them independently at the course on ProfiLehrePlus.de (link to be provided).

Training

During training, students acquire proficiency in using digital resources in teaching. They are provided an overview of teaching-learning-formats as well as applications of various methods concerning digital media and technologies. They determine respective pros and cons and are able to put the most important technologies and media to use. They are capable of consulting interested teachers on fitting media, technologies, methods and formats for their respective lectures. During preparation and conduction of a lecture, e-tutors support teachers. They are sensitised to various questions concerning copyright.  

E-tutor competences in keywords:

During their training, e-tutors work on the following competences:

  • Advising teachers in choosing and designing digital teaching-learning processes
  • Co-designing and expanding lectures with digital elements based on recent higher education didactical findings
  • Producing teachings videos (as well as screencasts, studio recordings, video editing, experimentals) and embedding them into Moodle (e.g. via Panopto or interactive H5P elements)
  • Consulting teachers on all matters to do with copyright
  • Expanding and supporting teaching processes
