The rise of AI has posed several challenges for course instructors. A key question is how to design tasks and assessments that genuinely promote student learning and cannot easily be completed using tools like ChatGPT.This workshop aims to equip course instructors with the knowledge and skills necessary to design meaningful tasks and assignments that either incorporate or consider the presence of AI tools. Participants will leave the workshop with a concrete, AI-aware assignment concept tailored to their specific courses and instructional needs.
Description of the speaker:
Anna-Katharina Scholz is an scholar for the english language and has many years of teaching experience at various universities. She has been working as a university didactician at the Teaching Competence Center at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg since 2023. Her main areas of work include general didactics, digital teaching and the creation of digitally supported teaching and learning materials. She also designs and supervises English-language further education courses for lecturers and is intensively involved in the use of AI in university teaching.
Participants should bring a specific task or assignment from their teaching context to work on during the workshop.
